how to treat gout

How to treat goutGout is just one of around  150 different conditions commonly known as arthritis. Gout  is a metabolic disorder which may cause  excruciating  pain and swelling.

Gout is  less common in women than in men  and is characterized by sudden, burning pain and swelling. Gout  generally  attacks the big  toe.

Gout is a form  of arthritis that produces  intense bursts of joint pain and affects millions of people, with men being the most susceptible .

The tendency of gout is  to be more severe in people who show  symptoms before the age of 30 . Gout sufferers who  also have diabetes or kidney problems could  find that their attacks of gout could be  more frequent.

Many  people have the feeling  that the curse of gout is an entirely self-inflicted condition suffered  by over eating and over indulging , just like royals and the aristocracy of old. This however is is not the whole story as we now know.

Gout is a chronic condition which may  be caused  by an uncontrolled  metabolic disorder, hyperuricemia, which leads to the deposition of mono sodium urate (uric acid) crystals in tissue in and around  the joint. Hyperuricemia means too much uric acid in the blood.  Purine nucleotide catabolism produces uric acid.

Tests  indicate that almost 1% of the adult population might  experience  symptoms of gout at some time  during  their lives. Left untreated, frequent attacks of gout might  lead to joint deformity and in some cases damage to other organs.

 Is there a gout cure?

Most  would describe gout as an incurable disease, as they would with most diseases  associated with arthritis, and this can  be correct  if taken literally, however if the underlying issues contributing to gout are treated,  then all symptoms of gout can be irradiated. There are medical, dietary, alternative, and lifestyle approaches to treating gout (or the underlying contributing factors of gout).

Why risk using harmful drug therapies, when gout may  indeed be successfully treated using a combination of simple lifestyle changes. Simple changes  to food consumption  will defiantly  help. In fact, some everyday items you may already have in your kitchen could  successfully get rid of  uric acid crystal deposits from a person's  joints when taken correctly.  Gout can successfully be treated  if they find the right approach , even if gout was passed down through a family gene.
